For years, young students have been reading the great novel “Tuck Everlasting” by Natalie Babbitt. This new workbook, “Tucks on Trial,” has been created by former award-winning teacher Alan Pietsch to enhance the reading experience for these kids. The workbook helps students learn about the ins and outs of the criminal justice system and how a courtroom functions. With costumes, props and scripts included in the workbook, students get the full experience of what goes on in a trial, with some playing lawyers, judges, jurors or witnesses. There are also closing remarks, quizzes on vocabulary and even a section on writing a newspaper article about a trial. This is the first workbook by Alan Pietsch, and his second book overall. His first book is a young adult novel called “Ophelia’s Uncommonly Odd Adventure.” published in 2019.
